What it means to be a Hirschfeldian

level are always a great success. This all contributes to the Hirschfeld experience and really shapes us as a House. As our school days at Brisbane Girls Grammar draw to a close, we can truly appreciate how close we have become. Spending five mornings a week for five years with the same happy, supportive group of tigers really makes a difference and has defined our experience here at School, as proud members of Hirschfeld House. Hirschfeld House has always been known for its spirit and enthusiasm. At the beginning of the year we were excited to welcome our new Year 8s, and we can rest assured that they will continue this spirit even after our departure at the end of the year. The year began with a brilliant start at the House Party where we saw what it really meant to be a Hirschfeldian. The Miss Hirschfeld competition and endless amounts of food and games made an unforgettable afternoon and a wonderful introduction for the new girls. It is always amazing to see the diverse number of costumes as well as every conceivable shade of orange. This truly reflects the variety in Hirschfeld House, from the Year 8s who amazed us with their colourful noticeboard and their best dressed tiger outfits, to the Year 11s who impressed us with their lively skit. Life in Hirschfeld is so exciting. We experience it every week at our House meetings and in greater force at Interhouse events. We splashed outrageous orange over the School at the Interhouse Swimming Competition, and Hirschfeld is always there larger than life, running, skipping and jumping around the cross country track. To top it all off, our dazzling drama talent illuminates the stage in a glow of orange. An integral part of being in Hirschfeld House is the fulfilment we feel participating in our many fundraising activities. We raise an outstanding amount of money at our hot potato stall on Open Day, and the raffles and stalls run by each year
