All girls made a concerted effort to ensure this season was one of the most successful in Grammar Water Polo history. Many girls from all ages made a variety of representative teams ranging from Metropolitan North, to Queensland and Australia. However; Grammar Water Polo is not only about succeeding at elite levels; it is, for all players, about meeting new people, learning new skills and most importantly, enjoying playing a sport that offers so much. The season began with immense spirit in early August 2003, with the team trials being held. Some girls, still in primary school, were able to experience the Grammar spirit even before they started in Year 8. The club registered their highest number of players ever (156) in the Brisbane Junior Water Polo competition The season was to be one of hard work, both in training and at games every Saturday from October to March. Every week girls attended swimming and water polo training and games. it was this hard work, commitment and support for each other that

earned the results in the end. On semi-finals day, of the 13 teams involved, I O were from Girls Grammar. The strength of the Junior program was evident with the 18Cs ithe Development Teamj winning through in front of the As. The outcome of the season saw 4 premierships, two seconds , two thirds, one fourth, two fifths and one sixth placing A record 320 attended the Annual Dinner with special guest, Olympian and past student, Nikita Cuffe, presenting the Year12s with their caps Miss Hatton presented the Debbie HandleyAward to Joint winners, Sally Fanguhar 110Wl and Emily Young 110Gl Grammar entered two teams lurider I4 and under 131 into the U 14 State Championships. The U 14 team, coached by Anna Moore, performed well, coming

third. The U 13 team, coached by Jodie Taylor had to battle hard, but gained much in experience from the tournament Scott Schweickle and Anna Moore coached the U17 team at the State Championships. They are now the proud holders of the Sharyn Gist Perpetual Trophy All these successes would not have been possible without the support and encouragement of the players, coaches and families. We would like to thank our Coordinator Mrs C Moore, for her continuing commitment to the club and the dedication of our enthusiastic coaches
