The golden rays emitted from Woolcock House in 2000 have never been brighter. indeed it seems as if this year the House has once

and yellow swimming caps to show their prowess in the pool. The day showed our awesome cheering ability with the addition of some new war cries thanks to the gifted Year 125. We had our individual stars but our true ability was shown in the depth of our relays. A fabulous rendition of the play, Garden of Poredise came next, under the direction of Nicole Bertram and Steph Fielding. The drama was a tremendous achievement as it involved over sixty girls and required an unbelievable amount of all the girls' time. The whole cast had a fantastic time during the performance and rehearsals, and the play was considered a great success, with the adjudicator applauding our enthusiasm in performance. The Cross Country was a chance to show the school where our talent really lies. Our high level of participation and commitment was rewarded, with Woolcock being named the Cross Country Champions for 2000. The Year 85 and 125 got into the action and staged a themed run. Well- earned congratulations must go to those girls who made it the whole way three-legged, and to those who went the whole distance in a well-made 'yellow pages skirt'!!! The Year 125 took on a jungle theme, which showed our speed and agility, and made us become a more cohesive team. The start of Term Three meant the Interhouse Choir competition was looming quickly. Under the guidance of A1anna Conway and Do in Mayo we performed an animated, and co-ordinated performance, which was the height of entertainment. Our medley of YMCA, in the Navy and Go West was most enjoyable for the singers and the audience, and I heard along the grapevine many thought we took the cake for the most entertaining choir! The Interhouse Athletics was another event where we could once again show off our fantastic running and throwing ability. The fantasticjungle-themed bandanas obviously helped our cause, as we came fourth overall, and our team spirit was again on show with fobulous cheering and excellent results in many events. With all of these bustling activities we still managed to contribute something special to the Big Project. Our month, "The Olympics are coming, " raised a substantial amount of money to help the Royal Children's Hospital endeavour to provide the best care to young Queenslanders. Much-deserved thanks must go to Mrs Bailey, Mr Offer, Mrs Just, Mr Devoy, Ms Thomas and Miss Dufty who do much of the work behind the scenes helping make all of Woolcock's successes possible. it has been an unforgettable year for Woolcock. I must extend my sincere thanks to all the Woolcock girls with everyone contributing in their own unique way, making the year such a success. We wish you the best of luck for the future.

again proven that it is a House filled with spirit and enthusiasm. The year started with the warm and friendly arrival of our energetic and animated Year 85.

.

The vitality and energy created by these girls was maintained through the entire year and they made Woolcock proud by winning the Year 81nterhouse Netball Competition and coming a close second in the Interhouse Volleyball. Throughout the year they have approached all House activities with such huge enthusiasm. The first House event was our Party and the yellow House sure knows how to party. The school transformed into a stream of yellow clad girls as they partied on into dusk, with games, and dancing galore! The ever popular flour game was again a hit with flour filling the air in a misty haze as it turned into a huge excuse to throw flour at each other!!! The much talked about fashion parade was once again a highlight;with the predictable yellow as the 'in' colour this season. Congratulations must go to the Year 10 entrant, 'Siamese twins' Rachael and Neva, for being crowned Miss Woolcock for 2000. March was soon upon us and the yellow Woodstock followers donned their to 95
