PHOTOGRAPHS IN GRAY PortA - Alithe Some

INTELLECT CAGE

Confined, enclosed, Minds caught, trapped, Locked, Like moths; battering brown bodies, Light confused, Fatuous flight, Captured by the intellect cage.

I'm the one in the background Just visible, barely Diagonally in front of that tree I'm slightly obscured by her hat And his arm blocks my lower fac But in the blending colours, And ordinary dress, I'm there.

Inside pupae prison, Thoughts blanketed, Irisidious flutters of intellectual impossibilities,

The black and white does improve the photo, Don't you think? After all my eyes are gray - Pretty typical really. My plain face, And deadpan smile But most of all my eyes

Feeble minds hinged, Netted by ignorance, Scale covered wings, Crunched by reality Removed from patterned possibilities Restricted imagination, Cribbed, Suffocating spirit.

Shallow and empty Pained and distant Are hidden a bit, Just a bit.

Bars, Blocking brains, Barricading foresight,

All the same, I'm in the background, Right in front of the tree.

Prisoner minds, Present dosed, With concrete, absolute, Tangible. Flapping frailly with current concepts,

Port B School Girl No. 3

Crumpled, damp fright, Asking always "Why?" Lifeless, Motionless.

What if you're an extra, A walk on role in life? And all those around you Feature in the foreground?

Cage collapses, Metamorphosed vibrant imago, Transparent tapestried treasures, Migrate in slender, silken sorties, Dark veined outlines, club tipped antennae, Plumed feathery forages, dreaming, Pollinating possibilities. Phantasmal creations leap wildly, daringly to muses music, Brushing infinite things that never were with brilliant, beating wings;

What if those with starring roles Remain distant and unknown, And those with names Obscure us of one line parts?

And lookers on Have finished observation As our final credit Rolls down the screen, So they walk off - Popcorn brushed away Perhaps to glance back with disinterest At our one second fame.
