YOUNG ACHIEVERS IN JUNIOR ENGLISH

WINNER: SOCIETY OF WOMEN COMPETITION (POETRY)

MY ANGEL

A number of girls have been successful in winning various writing competitions this year short stories, poetry and reviews. Eininie Will is, Zoe Briggs, Penny Boulton, Leanne Taylor, Georgia Mould, Lucy MCKenzie and Anne Harrison have shown that some hard work and inspiration can lead to success. Hopefully their achievements will inspire others to enter the many competitions that offer young students the chance to demonstrate their writing skills.

As I lay on this blossom littered ground, the world with not a sound. I gaze wondering Iy up at our big blue sky up ... up into the clouds - it looks like an eye.

Maybe she's watching over me like she said shed always be. Whether rain fell or the sun gleamed whatever weather we'd play here in our world together. We'd call it the land for the free. Me and my mum were meant to be.

Even though I know she's not right here I can always sense that she is near.

We'd frolic throughout these meadows fresh and green, together through our whole world we'd been.

She made me swing under the shady tree. Me and my mum were meant to be. I never thought that angels were real, I didn't need them that's what 16 feel. Now I think that mum's an angel, I think that she was always one' She is the nicest person that I know and never failed to show me fun.

Einino Plotz 8Mockoy CaOmi,

Taught me everything that she knew to care for others and show them happiness to me she showed this too. My life - sometimes I don't know what I'll do. Just for now, mum, I'm happy, lying here thinking of my angel - yo
