every Woolcockian this year have been fantastic, and of course it has all been done in typical Woolcock style. For such a wide variety of girls, I believe that we came together this year to be a wild, wacky, wonderful and witty house The Year Twelves came to welcome our new Year Eights for 1998. We played games, toured the school and relaxed on the E block lawn relishing our 'yellow' lunch party. 11 was evident from the first day that our Year Eights were full of fun and vivacity, and from there on in, we were in for an amazing year! We started the year with the annual House Party. Never in my life have I seen so many different combinations of yellow outfits than at this year's party! We had the traditional fashion

you to the Grade Elevens who helped with the organisation and provided the well-earned icy poles for each participant. Thanks, guys! Our Gym Captains, MIChelle Magazinovic and Brooke Schmidt, prepared our girls splendidly for the gymnastics competition. All girls put in a hundred percent at training, which was evident on the day. The standard was excellent, especially that of Chioe Watts who is the school Rhythmic Gymnastics Champion. Great work, Chloe! The Interhouse Debating competition was in the capable hands of Laura Cameron. Felicity Bennetts, Julie Anna Smith and Louisa Allen took the affirmative side debating that "your event on the House agenda this year. The spirit of Woolcock was at its peak Woolcock had been practis- ing our warcries, both the old and the new, so we were leady to cheer our House on. Satah Hiley, Samantha Bonning, Andrea Woolcock, Kate GIImore and Laura Cameron performed excep- tionally well. Special men- non must also go to the two Year Twelve relay teams who won for the fifth year in succession, and they won in style! A special thank you must go to all our House Group Teachers and Mrs Bailey who have so willingly supported and encouraged us in our House Activities and generally helped us throughout the year Finally, to all my fellow Grade Twelves. it feels like yesterday that we first walked through the front gates and began our time at Grammar. Even though it is almost time for us to depart BGGS and head into the wider world, no one can ever take away what Grammar has given us: the friendships, fun, and the memories of BGGS and our own House, Woolcock. I would like to thank Sally and He Ien, our Sports Captains, and of course Laura, our Vice House Captain. What on earth would I have done without you three! Thanks for everything you have done to make this year such a success. No one could take away the spirit of the Woolcock Warriors Good luck to all of you, especially Grade Elevens, for 1999 I know you all have the vitality and determination to make 1999 a great year! face is your fortune". Woolcock competition. After dancing, searching for 1011ies in the jelly, eating warheads, and undertaking Sally Lohrisch's school quiz, Menssa Hamilton was crowned Miss Woolcock for 1998 Swimming was the first interhouse event for the year, and Woolcock was all fired up. Even though we didn't win, I don't think anyone could have matched the cheering of the yellow warriors of Woolcock. The swimming carnival was a in agriifi- cent day filled with fun and house spirit that will be reinem- be red forever. Anna Moore, MardiJenkins and Victoria Morrison should all be coinmended on their superb effort in the pool Nicola Warten and Elm O'Halloran were our Drama Cap- tains for 1998. The time and effort put in by each girl paid off, as the performance on the night was excellent. Special mentions must be extended to Samantha Bonning , Me!issa Hamilton and Genevieve Starkey - the grandmas - whose performances were outstanding Cross Country marked a wonderful end to term one. it was marvellous to see the yellow shirts of Woolcock dominating the crowds as they lined up to compete. After a long and very hot run, Woolcock came home to win. Lisa Flint, Laura Cameron,
