Lillians supported the Artistic and Rhythmic Gymnastics with true House spirit and showing plenty of "green" Lilley, captained by Sarah Hoyes and Georgina Johnson, then took on the other houses in the Inter house Debating Competition. Many girls were eager to participate, and the five girls who did speak were outstanding, especially considering some had never debated before. Anna Humphries, Belinda Nevell and Beth Abernethy confidently battled their way through the first round. Beth returned in full force for the second round, accompanied by AnnabelJohnson and Morgan Maguire

enecting on the year, it is quite amazing to realise the comradeship that all Lillians share. I am sure this has developed through the sheer motivation, courage, petsever- ance and spirit that each girl has contributed to this year's events for the House The year opened with the Liney House Party which was a fun-filled 'green' occasion of various games, lots of green jelly, chocolate frogs, loud music and exceptional talent with Carly Cronin, Sarah BSIwick andJayne Pappin winning the Miss Liney award. Lillians certainly showed their true spirit by wearing

Although their argu- merits were convinc- ing and their man- net was exceptional, they were narrowly defeated. Despite this, the Liney de- baters certainly pro- ved that they are a force to be reckoned with, and must be congratulated for their efforts Liney, led by cap- rain Emily Shorten, secured a victory in the Inter house Ath- letics, winning the Overall Cup, the in- dividual Events Cup and being runners- up in the Relay Cup The participation by

Lilley won 111c 11TdividualPoints CLIj} and was runner up in both the Relay Cup and the Overall Cup. Bellnda Nevell glided through laps of the pool to win the Under 15 years Age Champion. This would not have been possible without the enthusiastic support of the Leaping Legends The Liney House Drama went exceptionally well with Kale Del Mar being an outstanding Drama Captain who was well committecl and always busy preparing and organising rehears- als. in this competition the Lilley actresses proved their su- piemacy lieing in the Showcase performance, which was a niarvellous effort The colourful Cross Country event saw flocks of Lillians in nifty green outfits ready to run a two kilometre course in Victoria Park. Lilley is the House of many gifted runners and it was encouraging to see those who did not see themselves in this 11glit running happily in their shades of green Liney's involvement in the Interhouse Gymnastics coinpeti- tion was commendable. The routines, Rhythmic captained by myself and Artistic captained by Kate del Mar, were enjoyable to watch at the close of second term. The results included a second placing overall in the Rhythmic Gymnastics. Andy Noon was named intraschoolRhythmic Gymnastics Champion. Again,

Liney girls was great, and a major reason for our triumph. Every girl performed well, with enthusiasm and spirit. Salah BStwick received Age Champion with Sasha Cuffe placing second in the Open Age Championship. This year the legendary seniors say farewell to our fellow Liney Legends whom we will miss greatly. The year Tan very smoothly with each girl putting in her greatest efforts and displaying commendable cooperation and enthusiasm. MTS MCConaghy, Mrs Kings and Mrs Edwards must be thanked for being excellent Heads of Lilley House and providing endless support. Also to be thanked is vice-captain Georgina Johnson for helping to organise the activities for the House. Special thanks must go to 10die Mackay for being House photographer and keeping Lillians informed via the Lilley news, and He Ien Smith for being House treasurer. it was an honour to be the Captain of a "house full of individuals who can join together to create the power of one" to "defend our Liney pad" JANE RIMMINGTON HOUSE CAPTAIN
