BGGS fencers are now poised for even greater achievements in years to come. The first regatta entered by Grammar SAILING was the Teams Racing. For the first time. there were two divisions, Open and Under 15 and Gram- mar had a team entered in both. The U15 division was an oppoftunity for younger sail- ors to improve their skills be- fore entering into the com- petitive Open division. The U15 team (Sarah

The Open team (Kathryn Toft, Jacqui Melville, Lisa Chadso n, E'lizaCaith- ness, Tefesa Tweeddale, Alex Dimitriou) qualified for the Regional Selections, and were placed third. At the State Titles over the Easter break, the Open Team placed sixth. Sarah Roberts-Thomson,Jacqui Melville and Kathryn Toft com- peted in the Mirror State Titles. They placed fourth overall and second on handicap.

Not only have we achieved many major placings at events but have included a chance for non- riders to participate in our sport. For the first time non-riders have had the opportunity to participate in areas such as strapping, photography and writing a monthly newsletter.

BGGS was the only school to have two teams qualily for the Queensland Interschool Equestrian Finals. In the first team were Kadie Greenland, Claire Brock-lebank, Anna Ker-rison and Merissa Brett. The second team consisted of Sophie Ashover, Naorni Brett, Bronte Neville and Kirsten Hamon. BGGS also had qualifiers in the other three phases of the finals - Show Horse, Individual Dressage and Individual ShowJump- ing. Representative honours went to Anna Kerrison and Alana Railey who have been selected in the Queensland team to compete at the National Titles in \Vagga \Vagga..

In the Secondary Schools Regatta during May, Grammar entered live boats: school corsair, a mirror, two 125's and a minnow, with the corsair being the most sLlccessftrl, placing second. The biggest highlight of the year was rhe \ilomen's Teams Racing State Titles at Noosa.
