themselves to be extremely capable debaters, winning all three first round debates, and reaching the semifinals before being narrowly defeated by Morelon Bay College. Irrespective of the results of individual teams, this year's debating season has again been an enjoyable, if challenging experience for all involved. Topics have ranged from the current affairs based "that monarchy has no relevance in Australia today" and ithat life is cheap in today's society", to more perennial subjects, such as "that charity should begin at home". These topics provide debaters with an opportunity to grapple intellectually with relevant, and often controversial, However, it has been the support and dedication of the staff and coaches that have enabled 1994 to be yet anothersuccessful year for Apex Debating at BGGS, and this has been most sincerely appreciated by the debating students. TOMrs Sanderson, Ms Bolton, Miss Dare Mrs Fogarty, Miss Wood, and Mrs Basford, many thanks are extended for. their time, advice and consistent support Finally, congratulations to all girls who debated in Apex in the 1994 season, and best of luck for next year's competition MEGAN HIRST APEX DEBATING CAPTAIN Issues

Though there are no finals in this level, the girls involved are to be strongly coinmended on such high achieve- merits in their first year of debating for the school This success no clotibt indicates the future strength of Grammar debating Thotigh the Senior A's didn't enjoy such a successful season, the Senior B's achieved the best performance of all the Grammar Apex teams.
