hat an impact the new addition 10 the House community has nTade. The Pink Streak has chal- Ienged, tinseitled, stunned and amazed its rivals. Beanland, the I}aby of the group, has Inade a grand entrance into 1994 and Girls' Grammar 11 was decided at the \, ery beginning of the year that Beanlancl would be renowned for its excepiional ITouse spirit an <1 pal ticipation. This aim was realised in the Interhouse Swimming, the first of 11Te House competitions, willT Beanland taking a remarkable first place. The swilliming was an outstand- ing day, willT fLill participation from all the ITouse. TITe girls were dedicate <1 in their swimming and cheering. Exceptional swim- ming from Sophie Lehmann (Yr 12) and Bellnda Cox (Yr 8) strengthened the Beanland effort and sealed vicioiy on the day Next on the agenda was 11Te Gymnastics. Once again, The participation was higlT and so was our spirit, even 1110ugli we were a little short on talent at times. Beanland showed its class in the Artistic section, placing second overall, and obtaining a commendable placing in the Rhythmic category. The gymnastic Talents of Lucinda Cater and Menssa Brett were appreciated Brooke O'Connell showed great leadership qtialities WITen she took on the role of Beanland's Drama Captain. She adapted a David Hill play, "Winner Takes All". 11 was a successful prodtiction with Grithtisiasts froiii all orades takino part. A coloui'f\11, lively energetic play, it reflected The Beanland spirit ^"a an <1 was highly coinmended by the adjudicator for' its presen- ^ tation and performance The choral competition produced another CTeclitable effort by Beanland, willT Choral Captains Tanja Beer and Me Ianie Cllamp working hard to organise and prepare the choir. We salTg a medley froiTt Andi'ew Lloyd Webber's In us ICa1, '10seph and His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat" with all girls enjoying the experience and singing their Beanland nearIs out Pink I'ower struck again at the Interhouse Athletics with phenomenal participation from all girls securing us an overall CIOsc sccond placing.
