O'CONNOR 1993 has been a successful year for maroon muscles and O'Connor displayed enthusiasm and determination in all Interhouse Competitions. A1 the Swimming, outstanding results were achieved by MIChelle and Lisa Fraser who swam their way to victory in many events. The Artistic and Rhythmic gymnastics proved 10 be O'Connor's sporting forte with polished routines from Rachel Boldery and Calllin Hunter. On athletics day, O'Connor held third place for the majority of the time. This was due 10 remarkable perfonmances by the legendary eight, nine and ten year levels and in particular those of Natarshia Soo, Emma Huchison, Freyr Patterson and Kale Bentley. There certainly is a huge future for O'Connor's Athletics! in the Drama competition, we presented an entertaining coini- cal-murder, SORRY WRONG NUMBER, which was skilful- Iy directed by 10 CTombie. Memorable performances were given by Eva Wood and Cainin Hunter The choir competition was the climax of OUT year when we gained FIRST PLACE with an enthusiastic rendition of SIS- TER ACT as arranged by Sarah Black. Tanya Sideris capably accompanied the huge choir and solos were beautifully sung by Milly SIendrup and Kirsten Hannon. Congratulations must be extended 10 all of these girls O'Connor has also demonstrated a social conscience by rais- ing thousands of dollars for Inala Stale School in the form of cash and Coles Dockets. The students from Inala gave us a delightful concert in return for OUT financial support. A fair ITade! 11 seems like yesterday that we swapped jokes at our first function, the House BBQ, and Ihe year has flown quickly for all O'Connorians. Thanks must go 10 Mrs Kings, the other O'Connor staff and the seniors for co- oldinating such a fun- filled and friendly year Bridgei Effeney, Kathryn Whilehouse
