LILLEY

- TOGETHER WE LEAP AHEAD - The spirit of Liney in 1993 was outstanding! Although it was not particularly a year of total domination, the spirit shown by all Lillians did enable us to leap ahead together. As Mrs SIeffens was expecting a new addition to her family, Lilley had 10 say goodbye to her at the end of Semester I. We would like to thank her very much for all her wonderful efforts during her term as Lilley Head of House. Her assis- lanceto the Year 12's was gleany appreciated. Mrs MCConaghy was Lilley's new addition 10 the family when she was made Head of House in Semester 11. Lilley was in enthusiastic and capable hands and leaped into yet another exciting semester. Rachel Slamford and Denise Spratley, Lilley's sports cap- lains, organised all sporting activities in 1993 and are to be thanked for all their effort and support. With a jump, step and bound February saw an afternoon of pizza and welcome 10 all new and old Lillians. Our third placing in Interhouse swim- ming was a result of our amphibian talents throughout the house, especially those of MIChelle Glover (Year 12) and Anna Baranoff (Year 9) Janelle Patel composed and directed the SiloM, WITiie SIoiy which was a wonderful success. A large number of Lillians including Melody De Laat, Franki Richardson, all the trees and hairy-chested Ginny Jay as the Prince, were involved Andrea Bremnel' can not be forgotten for her instinctive nature as Ihe Magic Mirror. April witnessed the near domination of Lilley gymnasts in the In Ierhouse competition with second place in Rhythmic and superb efforts by the Artistic gymnasis. Lilley is to be coin- mended for the courage shown by certain gymnasis, particu- Iarly An it a and Tanya Hobson "As a result of many dedicated Lilleyiies, a harmonious ver- SIon of The Rose was achieved, " said Leeia Grayson, the co- ordinal or of Lilley choir for the interhouse Competition in June. With direction from Leeta and Melody, Lilley surprised themselves with their musical talent in their version of "The Rose" Deeiia Aiken, a newly arrived grade 12, revealed her well hid- den iaieni in the Interhouse Athletics in August. She became Agc Cliaitipion by dashing the loom. in faithful green slip- pel's anti proved outstanding in shot put and discus. Lilley woLild be lost without her extra-ordinary(?) voice projection which gave unfailing support throughout the entire year to Lilley House. Chrissie Peel of Year 12 was placed third in the age gi'oup. With support behind our Lilley Athletes, the House was placed fourth overall. All house seniors worked particularly well with their year Iev- els which helped Lilley to work together as one' A big freddo should go to the Year 12's as a whole who have made 1993 a year to be remembered and a great note to leave on.
