1992 School Magazine
in second semester we welcomed our new Head of House, Mrs SIGffens. Soon after, Lilley re-established its success and spirit in the athletics. Yet again the dominant colour of Green proudly shone above the Test as Sallie Lawrence and Georgia lesson sped to endless victories. Sickness, howev- er, proved overwhelming for' the Lilley team, which fin- ished in fifth place. Anit a and Tania Hobson showed their incredible talents in the Rhythmic and Artistic Gym, with an impressive first piacino in clubs. 11 was an excellent effort from all the team. Karen, A1ice and Sarah gained a second place in the hoop, and these performances and OUT many third placings secured us second place ovei. all. Unfortunately, the artistic gymnasts were not able to leap ahead of all the other hous- es With the great support from the incredibly spirited bunch of year twelves, Lilley has successfully maintained its dominance in interhouse events. I'd especially like to thank the year elevens who have been writing all the let- Iers from "Freddie the frog", for the house reports. The house seniors have played an essential part in the house, building spirit and organising their classes. Thank you very much for all of your hard work. I hope that next year proves to be as great as this one has been
LILLEY HOUSE
LILLEY THE LEAPING LEGENDS 1992 was certainly not going to see the return to "Lilley the losers", a phrase the year twelves were introduced to when they were in year eight. it was the LILLEY LEG- ENDS who continued to leap in jumps and bounds, ahead of all the other houses this year displaying their undeniable spirit to all the other unfortunate non-Lillians. Chants of "Lilley leads the laps" echoed across the Valley pool as the talented Lillians swam to numerous victories in tile interhouse swimming. A sea of green dominated the stands with the arrival of the new Lilley caps, not to men- lion Anit a in the frog suit! Although the Legends narrowly missed first place, the immense spirit in the house, spurred on by the year tens, quashed any regrets. Many thanks to Sam MC Neice who organised the day so well and congi'at- ulations to Louise Wiseman and Michelle Glover who gave excellent performances! Lilley domination continued soon after the swimming with their superb first place victory in the Drama. The writer, director and choreographer of "Supeimarket Sweep", Rosa Raptis, must be congratulated for her incredible dedica- lion. Apologies to Mr SIuari, whose Harley Davidson was unfortunately dented prior to the perfoiTnance! Lilley certainly showed their spirit in the interhouse choir. Letl by Seiina and An it a, the house perfoi. med with utmost jovialiiy, not to mention tambourines and bongos. We did11'1 win, but we certainly proved Inat we did nave "The 111yihm of life"! Thanks must go to Mrs Rhodes for heI' Inspiration al help.
Good luck to all the Lillians next year. Remember Lillians will always be the LEAPING LEGENDS
