Our Bicentennial year has certainly been a year of celebration for all of our Woolcock Bananas. The year began with a great House barbecue to welcome our Year Eights and to get everyone ready for the lnter-House Swimming. Yellow fever was certainly at its peak for this eve nt. Our weekly House Assemblies in the theatre have had an interesting combination of things arise, with all of our 'bunches' (grades) participating. The "Banana Blitz" was a new way to communicate with all of our other bunches, giving all the girls an opportunity to find out what our other 'bananas' are achieving ! ! Speaking of achieving, bananas have become, in the last year or so, extremely enthusiastic in the sporting field. Our triumphs have been many, with a third in the lnter- House Swimming, the cup for the third year in a row f or Rhythmic Gymnastics and a third placing for our Artistic (Bananas). Cross Country was also shown to be a Banana Sport through and through, when we were placed third yet again ! ! Cetting away {rom our athletic abilities, we will now venture to our'Arty Bananas'where we came a successf ul third in the lnter-House Drama Competition with one of our very talented Year Twelve Bananas writing and starring in the production "For The Love Of Emma". Karen Roberts and Lynden Ewin jointly directed this show. Our Year Nine bunch won the debating for us -'Nanas can peel their way out of anything. Although the lnter-House Athletics and Choral Competition have not been held yet, l'm sure we'll give the other houses a big bunch of bananas to contend with - WATC[-{ OUTI! 96
