She once was a dazzling beautY Her blonde hair shone like gold, But nour her hair grows whiter As she is growing old. Once, her clothes were whirls of colour ln beautiful silks and satins, Her dresses now are dark and dull, ln one unvarying pattern. Her days gone by were happy and free - With laughter, f riends and fun, But now*she sits in solitude - bleak - No laughter, no friends, no one. She spends her days in recollection,
Holding back mY tears, Swallowing mY thoughts' "Cry on the inside, Smiie on the outside," That's what theY saY. But if onlY theY knew What a task it can be
