When I first thought about this report, I wondered where I'd begin and now that I've started to ·put pen to paper, I still wonder. I suppose the first day of the new year is as good a place as any. That day when the Grade 12's acted as a tour guide to the up-and-coming Grade 8 Griffithians at least gave them some hope that this place was not total- ly threatening and gave the Grade 12's some feeling of responsibility. We had the usual house barbecue, also at the beginning of the year. It was a fun afternoon. Unfortunately due to the later start to the year, we missed out on the Interhouse Swimming Carnival. Without a doubt however, Griffith would have been worthy competition in both swimming and spirit. Anyway, House meetings were fun, with the new format in- troduced this year. Thanks to that one person who did in fact dress up as a pirate. By the way, who was the good- looking skeg dressed in a wet suit in the Griffith Fashion Parade? Hopefully Griffith will show her true style in the athletics and also be as successful in the choir competition as we were last year. Also best of luck to the Grade 11's for next year. May you all aspire to great heights. Finally, thanks to Tania Hudson and Mrs Sanderson for her often-needed reas- su rance. Thanks go to those kids who helped and were so enthusiastic throughout, though too numerou's to mention, they know who they are.
