HEAD GIRLS' REPORT

April 21st - Not knowing what to expect, jessica and attended our first G.P.S. School Captains' meeting. It was of great value as we discussed common issues regarding school life. The Mothers' Group Annual Fashion Extravaganza proved to be successful once again and was enjoyed by everyone. This year the garments ranged from Victorian riding habits to designer swimwear. All choreography was professionally organised by many senior students and the night was superb. The lnterhouse Cross-country Championships were run for a week and the Cup was finally won by England House. The girls displayed their stamina and style, cheered on by their loyal Terrace Supporters who lined the course each lunch hour. Thanks guys, we couldn't have done it without you. May 16th -The jean Trundle Drama competition was a good success this year with the cast of Wendy Conomos, Katrina Voller, Christine White, josephine Clift and Susan Lynch , performing " Wasting Away". It is about teenage pressure and a young girl suffering from anorexia nervosa. It was a superb performance. May 18th - B.G.G.S. succeeded in coming third in the G.P.S. Ballgames with St Hilda's continuing their domination with an impressive win. It was a fight right up to the last game. Congratulations Grammar, on moving up a spot from last year. April 27th - April 29th-May 3rd -

1985 had a difficult start at Girls' Grammar, the first day being postponed for two weeks, with everyone ready to be back at school by the eventual starting date 11th February. The storm damage and noise from the new building did not deter our enthusiastic beginning. It made everyone determined to make the most of the year. Unfortunately no Year Eight orientation day could be arranged, instead a Year Twe lve - Year Eight adoption period was held to help introduce the new arrivals to Grammar. February 21st- EEA commenced for the year, offering even more variety than last year. A new form for house meetings was adopted, allowing more time to organise activities and encourage house spirit. February 28th -Amanda Cooke, Sarah Curtis and jenny Russell participated in the Lion's Youth of the Year Contest at the Ridge Motel. This proved to be a very rewarding experience for all involved and the prefects' support was well appreciated. Sarah Curtis was successful in going into the next round of the contest. Congratulations.! March 9th- After months of hard work, the B.G.G.S. swim team had their chance to show their style at Chandler in the G.P.S. Swimming Carnival. The 1985 Grammar Cheer- squad made their debut helping the girls to attain third place. Well done, team! 15 February 25th -
