FROG: INSPIRATION FROM TIIE GREEN ROOM With a texture like lime porcelain the silken skin stretches over his fine frame, his comical face staring wide-eyed at the swampish environment. Chiselled muscles on each tiny but nimble limb oid his swift swimming. His round-tipped toes, each joined by a glad-wrap thin web, splay gently across the titypad A whiplike tongue flicks an incautious fly deftb, into the goping mouth. And he hops on to q new stage for the next act. Kylie Yule

TT{E ACF{TEY/ER Sunshine hustles like the stray ginger cat,

encircling me three times then gone to sit on the stairs head facing the opposite direction, ignoring my pleas for coimpany just a little bit longer. Two concrete squares plus two concrete squares equals four Concrete squares, where's the cooch grass? One cloud plus one cloud equals two clouds and they alone eclipse the sky. One bird plus one body of water, they together create the ripples and the cat comes back but the sun will not, and The concrete cracks but the blade of grass snaps ond the clouds separhte, but now it's black - too late and water's not qnd the bird's not either and the ripple has elapsed into nothingness. The concrete chips and the clouds disappear, but the sky isn't anything and the grass eyen less and the dusk on the open eyes sears and one solitary figure sits unobserving" dangling legs and cold and it alone can't initiate the ripples, see the sky, plant the grass ond smash the concrete. Ah but the cat's back and the sun's still on the run that solitary figure now can. Susan Leggett
