We have made new records in other areas too, in fact we would not be surprised if the fire department don ' t know us all by a first name basis, after all, they visit us so often. Extra congratulations go to Chef Paul for lighting the Barbeque in the kitchen and causing a major fire alarm. At leas t the firemen got a free hamburger' Living in Spring Hill does have its disadvantages, at least for a building full of defenceless girls, but not on the part of one particular Albert Park resident. We think he got more than he bargained for when he encountered our formidable quintet of honour guards. This year we introduce Mrs Oxlade as the Sen ior Boarding House mistress, and welcome Miss Torlach, Miss Buchanan, Mrs Coker and 'Dancer' (Miss Morrison's faithful but smel- ly sheep dog, who incidentally has his paws blow dried?!). I' m sure that more than one of us can remember their di li gence at the bedside, in their time off, when we were ill. Thanks is also extended to Ms. Rant and Mrs Cou lt er who also worked diligently with the juniors prep, when we can bet sometimes wished they were elsewhere! What is there left to say? It has been an enjoyab le year, with good still ye t to come, although it is to be sure Grade 12 will be sad to leave. Anyhow, good luck in 1983!! Karen Davis & Cynthia Tait

BOARDERS REPORT 1982 We'd imagine you would all realize who the boarders in your classes are since the lunch bell triggers not only their salivary glands but also their legs ... to make the lunch line if not first at least ahead of 95 other girls. Still we consist of so much more, and are part of things many others will never know. We started this year with a "getting to know you all" con- cert, introducing the Grade 8's. Later on we held our annual "Miss Boarding House Competition", with our reigning Queen and Princess now being Alison Stocker of Year 12, and Margot Mcilwain of Year 10. Some thanks must go to the Year 12 Boarders from Grammar who though late somehow made the night. This year marked the beginning of an era, for friendship with the boys next door. For in May, a combined concert was held when girls from Grades 8, II, 12 aired their diverse and entertaining talents. It was a night enjoyed by all, with plenty of laughs and a bit of embarrassment for some!
