CAMP WOLLUMBIN '80 A never-to-be-forgotten experience for all seven of us who braved the 'outdoor' life for a week at Wollumbin Scout Camp, south of Kingscliff. For me it lived up to l.S.C.F. camps reputations, with the usual mixture of sun, fun, and serious study. After having woken up at 6.30 (C.W. time - in reality, 6.00) there was the in- evitable dash for the limited hot showers, morning prayer, breakfast and then Bible studies. An exciting volleyball game was squeezed in and then we hit the beach or even the surf (for those brave enough . . . or persuaded enough!)After lunch, all 200 of us energetic little souls headed off to an elective. After three hours of water skiing, sailing, horse-riding, canoeing, tobaggan- ing, screen printing or music, we retired tired and burnt to the campsite for tea, then games and an evening pro- gram of films, music, and sharing. By this time most of us were pleased to see our sandy air mattresses and damp sleeping bags, though some of us became more active and possessions mysteriously disappeared or were found flying from the flagpole. We all had a great time and found ourselves closer to God while braving the elements.

STUDY CAMP 1980 A whole week of precious holidays spent studying! I must be mad. Well maybe it won't be that bad. After all it is quite nice up on Mt. Tambourine. So off I went, thinking that if nothing else, at least nry Economics assignment would have a better chance of being done, but still a little doubtf ul as to whether I would enjoy four study sessions a day for five days. lt came as quite a surprise when I found myself actually enjoying the whole camp - including the study. We were allowed to study the subjects of our own choice and help was always available f rom an eager Uni student or teacher (who you soon discover are very human). Naturally enought not all our time was spent studying, many torturous hours were spent in the hot sun as we professionally played the now annual volleyball cham- pionship. Each afternoon was filled with optional studies on a wide variety of topics ranging from Creation v's Evolution to Boy-Girl relationships. The nights were not without their activities including singing, bible studies and games. The camp provided a wonderf ul opportunity to learn a lot academically, to grow a lot spiritually and'simply to have a great time.
