Saturday afternoon, six of the physical education activity group set up the orienteering course which the girls were lo be assessed on the next morning. On Monday morning the overnight trip returned and, after drving into the pool ran around the orienteering course with the others. By 2.30 p.m. Monday everyone had packed up, and boarded the bus, ready for the uneventful trip home. The weekend was an enjoyable one, where we learnt a lot concerning ourselves and the area. The campsite is pleasant, and everyone co-operated with each other especially when it concerned pooling food. I never want to drink another cup of tea in my life . . . Gill Lindsay, 12C.

6th FORM HEALTH AND P.E. CAMP On Saturday, 6th October, the 6th Form Health and p.E. students (43 in all), Miss McAdam, Mr. Warden, Mr. Nicolosi, Mr. Emery, Mrs. Emery and progeny departed B.G.G.S. almost on time at 10.15 a.m. We were travelling north to Cooroy or to be exact, the "GWANDALLAN" Health Resort. The journey there was slightly nerve- racking as many kamikazi drivers eager to catch the "Arvo surf " gave us a fine display of daredevil driving. Upon arrival at the Health Resort, we excitedly marked out our territories and pitched our nylon abodes, gorged ourselves on lunch then promptly spent the rest of the afternoon swimming in the pool until dinner on which we bloated ourselves. Food played an important part during the camp as we all felt as though we might starve and consequently brought along enough food to feed a starv- ing army for several days. Some even went as far as to have a supply hut. Saturday evening was spent telling jokes of a dubious nature, with Miss McAdam, Mr. Warden, and Mr. Nic, (Mr. and Mrs. Emery, Michael and Robyn having retireQ). Afterwards was an all-in match of 'ping-pong donkey competition' but due to the honest nature of the par- ticipants, no-one was put out. Due to the results of a ping-pong match between two of the male teachers and two students, with a bet of another dubious nature, Mr. Nic. and Mr. Warden were thrown in the pool. Sunday morning, after breakfast, the two overnight trips left, one bound for Boreen Point, and the other for. . . .; the two physical activity groups went their separate ways, so overall the entire area surrounding the health resort was covered and observed, in order to assess how useful the area is in reference for future use. While the other groups were away on hikes, the base camp group designed their camp site, and then relaxed in the pool, there then was a slight mishap when Miss McAdam's overnight trip discovered upon their arrival that camping was prohibited. They were then transported to Six Mile Dam, where they spent the night zipped up, boiling and lerrorised by a snake.
