T'$eursday After breakfast in bed, we began the trast part of our journey to Ulverstone, the accommodation proved to be even better than the night before. tsecause this was our last night, we had a bit of fun e.g' short' sheeting the teachers' beds, which was skillfully done by De6bie Friest, Sue Magee, Heather Wilson and Jinny Du Moulin, while l4eredith Jordon kept watch in case the teachers turned uP.

delayed arrival of the doctor. T'he girls arrived home after a disappointed evening, as they had been too late to do any night-shoPPing. Saturday Started off miserably wet. Alan took us on a morning tour of Melbourne while the teachers were awaiting the arrival of the doctor, as Fleather Wilson and Jenny Du Moulin were still not weil. After filling in two hours at the Tullamarine Airport, we boarded the plane for Launceston. On board we had a few non-flyers who were very excited and rather nervous, e.g. Julie Wacker, Bettina Nissen and Alan our bus- drlver. After a safe flight, we were met by Ron, who was to be our driver in Tasmania' We had a short tour of Launceston, and arrived at the Metropole F{otel just before tea, we disregarded the appearance of the -hotel as our thoughts were overpowered by the realization of a decent meal and bed. Sunday On the road again by 8'30 a.m. and Ron managed quite successfully to introduce us to every bump on the road, from here to Hobart. The scenery was quite unreal, thick green vegetation distant snow clad mour'tains and baa lambs by the thousand. For the interest of all the Johnny Farnham fans we had a real life glimpse of the heartthrob. F{obart, was drizzly weatf,er, but acceptable accommodation and food prospects at the Jane Franklin F{a11. Monday Attempted to lose certain individuals behind bars at Port Aithur, quite unsuccessfully. A guided- tour of the ruins proved interesting though whether the interest lay in the B.G'S' or the actual ruins is rather debatable. We returned to Hobart and spent the rest of the afternoon at leisure' That night we all dispersed into groups to investigate Hobart's night life' Tuesday Eveiyone was up bright and early after a good night's sleep. We staited off the day with a visit to the Tridor Vlllage and continued on the tour down the Huon Valley, ending up at Mt. Wellington, where. snow fights proved successtul and many snowmen were tiitt. f-tte snow fights continued all the way down the mountain. On the way home we stopped at the famous Casino where we were not made welcome and returned home to the dreadful task of packing"'YUK, after three days of not doing it we were all out of practice ! Wednesday It was a morning of complete chaos and we left Hobart regretfully. Our trip to Queenstown was very windy, and instead of taking the normal- route to Queenstown, we had to be different and take the no- riadic route,..Bumpity..Bumpity.'Bump ! On arrival at The Silver Hills Motel we were breath taken with the luxury of ttre suites, where Kate Henzell and Meredith Hewiit amused themselves watching "sesame Street," L" iV. That night we went on Jshort tour of Mt Lyell's open-cut mines'

Friday Our days of sleeping in luxury were numbered and after a short tour of launceston, we made our way to the airport, whete we met another heartthrob, FauI tlogan, the shock was too great for him and he ended upln irospital the next day with acute appendicitis' W. *uu.d Ron goodbye, and wished the old bus on it's way. We arrived in Melbourne safely, and the girls were stattered between the atrport and the carpark, after rounding everybody up we departed for the caravan park where a free evening was enjoyed by all' SaturdaY Alarr dropped us off in town where a free day was enjoyed Uy at1. Rfter relating'the gossip of the day we bedded down for the night. Sunday We woke up with the dreadful thought of Wagga ahead of us, aifter previous experiences' We asked if we could by-pass Wagga, but the teachers knew how much we liked it, we were made to go there' so we arrived at Wagga wondering how we were going to filI in an evening. Monday Moans and groans were heard again as we loaded the bus in the rain. It was a very pleasant day travelling until we reached Macquaries Pass (which dropped 2,000 ft. in five miles). it was very scary but thank goodness our bus had good brake.s and a good driver ive arrived at Otford just after dark' Tuesday - ,q.*Jrc early and made our way into Sydney' On the way in we iealized what a terrible road ye'd come across last night e.g' We crossed a nanow causeway where th. sid'e wheels of our bus were overhanging the side. On our arrival in Sydnev we spent a morning atfu and ended up at farongaPark Zoo' tr'eaving ;;;;ftt in the afternoon we started on our way back to Otford. ?:
