This year, the girls had more opportunity to tty their hand at softball, for "8" team fixtures were inttoduced. This proved to be very popular especially with the second formers, who finally constituted about half the "B" team' The "A" team under Miss Hatton's guidance and with Linda Kleimeyer's helpful advice, man- aged to defeat all oncomers again this year and won the finals against a determined B.S.H.S. side by a vety close margin - 9-7. Mrs. Salzman and coach, Jane Allen, helped the "B" team into the finals against Somerville House, but unfortunately the older and more experienced members of the Somerville House team were too strong for the "B", who never- theless put up a great fight. However, this season was a most exciting and enjoyable one for both teams, and may 1969 be just as successful. Linda Kleimeyer : Linda is a very stong and and accurate pitcher, whose knowledge of the game was a great asset to the team. Hov/- ever, she is still inclined to hit fly balls.
