INTERNATIONAL STUDIES CHINESE C hinese at BGGS is a true testament to the place Chinese culture and the language holds in today’s world. Students are continually immersed in traditional customs and learning about the difference between Australian and Chinese culture. Our Junior students have been engaging in fun introductory topics such as typical conversation starters and exploring Chinese cuisine. As we move through the years, students are taught how to effectively use their knowledge during collaborative class discussions. Year 9 and 10 students have delved further into their language journey and have enjoyed navigating their way through the geography of China. Senior students have spent time reflecting on their time at BGGS and planning their future paths—particularly the opportunities that will arise from their developed Chinese skills. During my time at BGGS, Chinese has offered me a real insight into my own interests and the role of the Chinese language in my future endeavours. Brittany Anderson (12O)
