HEALTH & PHYSICAL EDUCATION O ver the course of our time at BGGS, Health and Physical Education has been both an engaging and challenging subject, that not only explored new and
comfort zones to build resilience and confidence, whether it was challenging ourselves to skip every day to raise money for Jump Rope for Heart in Year 7 or perfecting our Badminton ahead of Senior PE. An absolute highlight of Junior HPE was the incredible, yet very challenging, experience to learn life-long skills in lifesaving and complete a Bronze Medallion in Year 10. Senior Physical Education has continued to allow us to participate in practical lessons with sports such as Badminton and Aerobics in Year 11. Analysing our personal performance to create assessment pieces that emphasised the accompanying theory allowed us to learn new skills and put us, as a cohort, in the best place to reach our potential and complete Year 12. interesting sports outside of the classroom but allowed us to investigate how physical performance is closely related to, and completed alongside the theoretical components of, sport. It has expanded our knowledge and provided us with life-long skills that can be easily applied to future sports, teams, as well as our general health and wellbeing. Through our time in this subject, we were able to work closely together with our class to build strong relationships and connections. Supported by the amazing HPE staff at all times, our classroom was always encouraged to collaboratively discuss intriguing topics and let our competitive sides show on the Netball court. Junior Health and Physical Education explored a wide variety of new sports and skills we had never had the chance to participate in before, including the exhilarating jive. Across Junior HPE, we were continually pushed out of our
