A GUIDE TO BUILDING YOUR OWN CREATIVE LEARNING CENTRE

Sofia Cirino (12O), Holly Eddington (12B), and Emma-Rose Neil (12M)

T he Arts constitute a world of their own at BGGS, where we may give colour, sound, and form to our ideas. Those who immerse themselve in this world are bound to experience all its magical moments. Studying the Arts at Grammar gifts you with new ways of seeing the world that will accompany you for the rest of your life.

01 MUSIC S tart with the foundations. Form a land of sound with the first two levels of your concrete playground. From original compositions to music theory analysis, use Curriculum Music to provide a range of repertoire and create opportunities for teamwork and collaboration. Allow yourself the capacity to further grow individually as a musician by transitioning into Senior Music and Music Extension, and enjoy the freedom gifted to you in your musical pursuits.

02 DRAMA B ring in the Drama. Design a realm hidden away on the CLC’s third level: a world of imagination. Learn to craft and co-exist in a space shared between maker and audience. Use theatre as a creative tool to embody stories and explore the human experience, ranging from that of troubled modern-day teen to an Ancient Greek mother. Perform in School productions and Drama clubs, and experiment with a variety of theatrical genres and styles to bring the stage to life.

03 VISUAL ART T op it off with some Visual Art for the CLC’s sixth level. Begin by experimenting with media; create a masterpiece with charcoal and watercolour or explore the 3D plane with cardboard sculptures and plaster fantasy creatures. Once you have mastered techniques, it’s time move on to Senior Art. Build folios, and use your creations to explore whatever your heart desires by evolving your own unique focus.
