MACKAY

020 | BRISBANE GIRLS GRAMMAR SCHOOL 2022

W elcome to the best House in the School Magazine. It’s Caizha and Tia, Mackay House Captains, and what a year 2022 has been. All the Mackay angels embraced our motto: These wings were made to fly , At Interhouse sports events, yes we did try, but following the results, we should probably stick to the sky. Budapest was sung at Interhouse Choir, And we gotta say, Mackay dropped those melodies like fire. At House Assemblies on Monday mornings we made no delay to bring back, The groups from all grades, called a MacPac! Playing water pong, hoop games, kahoots and choir videos too, Each morning our House proved our Mackay spirit is true. Pancake breakfasts were a success, Despite the nutella and ice cream making a mess.

The Year 9 filmed a groovy choir video for Just a Cloud Away , We loved the dancing, singing, and Mr Sezgin’s moves—they were a slay. The Year 8s were well-fed when we gave them oreos, And we were impressed by their House Group’s engaging convos. Our Year 10s raised money for our House Charity, Miracles for Melanoma, through their bake sale, and we are so proud of the difference their donation makes on a widespread scale. The Year 7 to 12 buddies met each week on Friday morning, With hot chocolates, cookie decorating, keyring creating, and poster making— morning House Groups were never boring. Thanks to our Prefects, Service, Sport, Choir, Spirit and Media Captains too, And the rest of our Mackay angels, we can’t forget you. Finally, we thank Ms Jans, and our House Group Teachers, for helping us with all their might, There is nowhere else we’d rather you be, than in the House of WHITE. So, our year has now come to an end, But thank you for helping us take this year full send. Tia Fitzpatrick (12M) and Caizha Lee (12M) HOUSE CAPTAINS

Fluffy, delicious, warm, and golden brown, none of our angels could turn a plate down.

Our postponed House Party was themed ‘Out of this World’, We dressed up as angels, aliens, ate pizza, cake, and twirled. The Year 11s wore their lab coats—it was amazing, Meanwhile the Year 7s on the D-floor were non-stop raving.
