012 | BRISBANE GIRLS GRAMMAR SCHOOL 2022

T he Year 12 Gibson House seniors for 2022 aimed for the gladiator hood to embrace individuality, purple spirit, and participation, and hence the motto for the year, Gib it your all , was created to encompass these goals. Our success and House pride throughout the year reflects how well each girl ‘gave it their all’. Despite a wet start to the year due to the floods, fuelled by purple sour straps and cheer, Gibson dominated Interhouse Cross Country on the last day of Term 2 placing third overall. Term 3 proved to be busy; however, it was very rewarding to see the girls thrive at Interhouse Athletics and shine at Interhouse Choir with our rendition of Since U Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson.

For the first time in 2022, Gibson has supported Dress for Success, an organisation with the mission of empowering women to thrive in work and in life by providing a network of support and professional attire. Service has been at the forefront of Gibson this year, with Year 7 girls jumping their hearts out at Jump Rope for Heart, the Year 8 and 9 girls organising delicious bake stalls for their World Vision child, and Year 10 students reaching out into the broader community through their Community Service project. Although it was disappointing Year 11 girls did not get the opportunity to share their iconic Open Day strawberry ice creams with the public in Term 3, the School was delighted when the stall was revamped during a lunch time in Term 4. Along with the Year 12 girls’ final year of senior Service, Gibson was able to donate an incredible amount for Dress for Success. We are so grateful to Gibson House for making 2022 such an amazing year. Thanks to all the House Group teachers, Mrs Boltman and Mrs Finch. Together we have made 2022 a year to remember.
